To photograph girls studying where they studied in the 1930s.

I could only photograph girls who had provided model releases which took some of the spontaneity away. I needed to do away with their self-consciousness. I also wanted the scene to appear to be naturally lit so I used flashes triggered remotely and balanced the flash light with the window light.
